The Birth Story of Zane Jay

Induction was not my idea of starting off labor. With my first, my water broke at 39 weeks, and my labor started on it's own, and 12 hours later, I had a beautiful baby girl. Being almost 40 weeks pregnant, and just getting to the point of major discomfort, and no progression at all with dilation, my midwife suggested that I be induced, and I decided it would be best for us. I was always against induction, due to the fact that if baby isn't ready, why should I force it. I was also scared that my labor would be long, and eventually end in a C-Section. Well I was very wrong.

They say to cut the length of your first labor in half to "assume" the length of your second. I didn't believe this until I saw it. This labor was literally half of my labor with Maren. March 21st, 2011, Monday night, I went into the hospital to have Cervidil inserted inside of me, to soften my cervix. This is usually procedure, especially when you have had no previous dilation or effacement. I slept through the night, comfortably, and at 5:45 am, they took out the Cervidil, and started me on Pitocin, which is what "induces" or jumps starts your labor contractions. I was 2cm dilated at 5:45. YAY! I went from 0-2 in 12 hours! I for sure thought it was going to be a LONG day!

I started to feel contractions mildly throughout the morning. My mom, and Jason's mom and sisters, and my friend Krysten (the one who took the awesome pics) were all hanging out with me in the room and everything was going fine! Contractions started getting stronger, so they ordered the epidural. At 9:45 I was 3 cm, and received my epidural.....can't say that I enjoyed getting a needle strung through my spine is very enjoyable, and my contractions got strong while they were inserting it, so it was very hard to sit still, but I made it through. Whew, no more pain, ready to have a baby!

For the next hour or so, I was feeling great. I barely felt the contractions at this point, just the pressure during the contraction. At 11:10, the nurse checked me and I was 6 cm!! Yes!!! Progression ;) She told me probably 2-3 hours and I would have a baby! We were all so excited!

THEN all of a sudden I started feeling the contractions really strong on my left side, and my right leg was completely numb. They instantly got so strong, and I started crying, and yelled for someone to get the nurse. I also felt a lot of pressure, but I knew there was no way I could push a baby out at 6 cm! I told the nurse the epidural wasn't working and I need more meds! I was hysterical at this point, tears running down my face. My husband was so nervous, as with our first, I felt no pain ever. The nurse checked me at 11:20.....YES, that was only TEN minutes after I was 6 cm! She told me that I was ten cm, crowning, and having a baby RIGHT NOW!! Oh my goodness. Well where is my midwife?!?!? I started freaking out. LUCKILY my midwife's office is right next to the hospital so she arrived very shortly as I was screaming for her, in fear I was having the nurse deliver this baby! They kicked everyone out of the room, and proceeded with set up. My Midwide finally arrived, after what seemed like a century! I pushed 3 times, and delivered our beautiful baby boy at 11:34 am, Zane Jay Gomberg. Remember we didn't know the sex of the baby the entire pregnancy. The best part, was when Jason was the FIRST to call it....."Its a Boy!" There was something so emotional and amazing about hearing him say that.

Because Zane came out so quickly, his face was all bruised and black, and his eyes had popped red blood vessels in them. The poor little guy! He is so beautiful though!

So with that said, Jason, myself and Miss Maren would like to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Zane Jay Gomberg, born March 22nd, at 11:34 am, 7 pounds, 21 inches long.

The Beach, and Just the Three of Us

It has been so gorgeous in South Florida these days, not too hot, and not too cold, the perfect breeze. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather, and one of our last days of being a family of three, and have a beach picnic. It was wonderful, and perfect in every way. I am 39 weeks pregnant, and it wont be much longer that it will just be the three of us. We sat on a big white sheet, and had a picnic, and then Maren and Jason ran up and down the beach. I of course snuck in a few photos of my beautiful little girl. LOVE her so much. Love my husband too. ;)

Maren will have a favorite breakfast, and eat it for three, four weeks straight, then change it up a bit. Her new found love is cereal and milk, specifically as she calls it "O's and Milk." Love my little chunk.

{day 58} | 38 Weeks

Yes ma'am. 38 weeks, 9 1/2 months, and still counting. I could have to walk around like this for another 2 weeks! Errr. Will miss this belly, but can't wait to meet our little one, and find out if it's a boy or a girl!!

A Vintage Shoot

My little girl is getting so big! This was a fun little shoot, although we got rained out within 20 minutes of getting outside. This was also a week ago, where I was 37 weeks pregnant, so not so much fun chasing around a two year old in the rain. Luckily we got some great shots. Maren is 2 years, and 3 months here (27 months) and has become such a little actress in front of my camera. She cannot sit still for a minute, and is constantly smiling and dancing and singing. She was truly meant to be behind a video camera. Not an easy child to capture, but that is the beauty and challenge of child photography sometimes!

Day 50/365 My Girl

We had a rough weekend, with Maren being sick. Friday she woke up from her nap with a high fever, and it remained high on and off, between 103 and 104. I thought she just had a virus, because she was throwing up as well. Sunday morning, after still waking up with a 104 fever, we took her to urgent care, to find out that it was all being caused by a really bad ear infection. I felt awful not figuring this out earlier, and taking her in sooner. But after getting some antibiotics in her, she is good as new today, and smiling and dancing like herself again. Here is my girl, all better. Now just trying to play catch up!

Day 48/365 | DISCOVERY

So I decided to do my 365 posts as individual posts per photo, instead of tacking it all on to one post. This way I can blog about each day, if I can keep up. And if not, the photo will have to speak for itself. Today, Maren discovered the shower, and that it is basically just a mini, contained, splash park. It took me twenty minutes just to get her out, and still there was a temper tantrum to be had. She was dancing and singing and writing on the glass doors. She was just being a kid and enjoying the small things. It makes me smile.

2010 was a year of joy, of tears, of laughter, and of fear. It was a year that my husband, Jason and I, continued to build our marriage stronger and stronger, as lovers, as team mates, and as best friends. It was the year that we had the opportunity to watch our beautiful baby girl slowly turn into a truly amazing little girl. A little girl who loves princesses, high heels, and mommy's makeup. 2010 was also the year that we unfortunately had to watch cancer take over my father's life. He fought every day, and every minute of it. It was the year that finally allowed my father to rest, and to be taken under God's wings to a better place. It was the year that we found closeness and comfort among our families. More than anything, this year, I learned not to take mine or my family's health for granted. We are so fortunate to be entering 2011 with good health!!

Strawberry Fields Forever

There are not many activities that the three of us do together that NONE of us have ever experienced. Well, we found out that me, Jason, and obviously Maren has never gone strawberry picking. It was so great to experience something new for all of us, and Maren just LOVED it! We went to Bedner's Fresh Farm, about 45 minutes from home, to go experience fresh strawberry picking! This was a great little place, and as the seasons change, so do the crops. All year long there is something to pick!

When we got home, Daddy made us fresh strawberry milkshakes with chocolate chips in them!!! What a great way to end a perfect family date!

Yes. This is my child. She thinks she's sooooo super sassy, and wants to do everything that Mommy does. Every morning when Im putting on my make up, she says to me "I gotta have some makeup mommy, I gotta have that." She is always taking my sunglasses from me, and says "I gotta have mommy's glasses." So I bought her some oh so sassy sun glasses, so she wouldn't keep taking mine. She LOVES them! Everything that I have she's "gotta have."

Maren is Officially 2!!

My baby is two! I just do not know where the time has gone. It feels like just yesterday that Jason and I were staring at her in such awe, in that hospital room. We both instantly fell in love with her, and from that very moment, our love for her grows stronger and stronger everyday. She truly amazes me everyday, how she is turning into this little girl, with her own personality, her own style, and her own opinions. I feel like she knows everything, and when she says something that I didn't teach her or show her, I am just like, "wow." The truth is, she is paying attention to the big world that surrounds her, every little detail, and she is so aware of new things. New words, new objects, new people, and she doesn't ever forget. Once she sees something, or hears something once, she remembers it forever. And then there is her smile. Her smile can change everything, no matter what stress is in our lives, that smile can change the world. It sure does change our world, every single day.

Seriously, this child makes us laugh everyday, all day. She is my little goofball, and she knows it! It's so wonderful to have this face to look forward to every morning when we wake up. She tells me, "mommy, Im a goofball, Im silly mommy." Even her teachers at school tell me that she needs to be put on stage, and that she is such a character. We love her so much and feel so unbelievably blessed that she is our special princess.

I can't believe Maren already had her 2nd birthday party! I chose to do an old fashioned Sweet Shoppe themed party, and it was such a hit. I had been planning this for almost a year, and was very happy with the turn out. I will write more later, but still busy editing some of the pics. (Yes, these are only SOME of the many photos I took, and yes, I was the photographer, hostess, party planner, and mom, at this event! AHHH)

Busy Bodies Inside and Out

I have been running around like a mad crazy woman, trying to get stuff done for Maren's 2nd birthday, which is this weekend!! I am a perfectionist when it comes to designing/creating her birthday parties, as you will see in an upcoming post about her party. I will let the theme be a surprise for you all. In the middle of this all, I had my doctors appointment today, and all looks great with the baby. LOTS of movement with this baby! I am fighting a nasty cold, which is no fun when your preggers, AND chasing around a two year old, AND planning last minute birthday stuff. Life is good though. Jason is working hard, and has been so great, as always. Im so lucky! Here is a little peak at what my 6 month bump looks like, and also, I threw in a few of Miss Maren, because what's a blog post with no pics of my girl ;)

It's hard to catch her these days, she's so quick, and totally ignores the camera now. ;)

Thanksgiving in New York City

This thanksgiving, we bravely entered the 30 degree cold weather in New York for our Thanksgiving Holiday. Jason's older sister lives there, with her husband and two beautiful kids, 4 and 6 years old. Maren LOVED hanging out with her older cousins. Jason's whole family went, and we had a blast. Other than the fact I could NEVER live in weather that cold, Manhattan was an absolutely beautiful city! Got some great shots of the family, enjoyed a lovely thanksgiving dinner, walked A LOT, and got to enjoy being with a wonderful family. Maren even got her first manicure and hair cut there! ;)

How cute is this costume?! I made this costume with the help of my Aunt Candice, who is a sewing pro! I wanted some what of a retro clown costume, but I didn't realize it would come out this cute!! And Maren makes it all the cuter! She looked so adorable in it! I told her I was going to put makeup on her face, like Mommy. She was so super excited! She sat nicely and let me paint her face. Then, I picked her up in front of the mirror to see herself, and she took one look at herself, and freaked out. She was scared of what I had painted on her face. Im sure she was thinking, "Mom, this isn't what you look like when you put on makeup!" It was hilarious. I had to pretend to wipe it off, she was so scared of herself!

Cupcakes For Fun!

I decided that Maren was old enough to enjoy a very sweet project. Baking cupcakes. ;) She helped me mix, distribute the cupcake papers, pour, and even decorate!

You should of seen her eyes when those cupcakes transformed from "goo" to perfectly (well not really perfect) formed little cakes! She said "wooooooow."

Then I whipped out the frosting and the sprinkles, and she went to town! I really was the one who put the frosting on most of them, and then I told her to "sprinkle" the cupcakes. She kept sprinkling on the same cupcake over and over, the one in the corner closest to her.

These days, Maren is talking so much!! It's unbelievable that she has turned into this little girl who is completely communicating with us. She makes me laugh all the time, with some of the things that she says. And no matter what, everything she does, everything she says, every little expression on her face, is so darn cute to us, and Jason and I just can't ever get enough of her.

Some of the things she says and does lately that make me smile (because I cant get everything on video, but I never want to forget.

"I want mommy to hold you." (this is what she says when she wants me to hold her).

She says the ENTIRE alphabet, with her "L M N O P" sounding like "lalalalala."

She counts to 18! AND I def didn't teach her this, and Im prettys ure Mickey Mouse Clubhouse only counts to 12!

She says "Im sowwy" so cute!

"go go go" means she wants to climb up the stairs.

She thinks all sweets are "special treats." "I want special treat" she says. When I give it to her, she says "Menin good girl!"

She used to always say "yes" to questions I would ask her, and it was so cute how she said it. Now her new thing is "okaaaaaay," when I ask her questions.

EVERYTHING in our house according to Maren is "Mommy's." "Mommy's house, mommy's bed, mommy's chair."

She calls sprinkles "biscals" and she calls smoothies "snoobies."

She can name every Mickey Mouse Clubhouse character, including the ones you've never heard of, Claribelle and Pete! ;)

When she wants to sit on my lap, which is pretty much always, she says "I want on mommy's lap."

Her favorite color is pink.

There's nothing that makes her light up more, than giving her a "special treat." This is when I take advantage of getting kisses and hugs, in exchange for special treats. :)

The absolute best part of my day, is picking her up from preschool, and she has THE BIGGEST SMILE in her face, and screams "Mommy's here, I want to go bye bye."

Maren's First Day of School

Maren started her first day of school yesterday, Monday, and she did better than Mommy did. She is going to the Hebrew Academy of Palm Beach, and she is in the two year old class. She is only 20 months old, but they are putting her in the two year old class because she seems advanced enough. She will be attending three days a week, from 9:00 to 3:00.She didn't cry all day! Mommy cried all day! I, of course, followed her into the school with my camera, and documented her exploring her new classroom. She just loved it! The only thing she couldn't adapt to was sleeping on the floor on her matt.

Today was her second day and I took some more pics of her on our front porch. She cried a little when I left today, because I guess she knew I was leaving her this time. The teacher said she was absolutely fine right after I left. I can't believe what a big girl she is, and how fast time flies by!!

And when Mommy picked her up from her first day, she got a very special lollipop!

Maren loves being a Mommy to her babies! She puts all her dollys in her stroller and walks them around the house. Then she burps each one, and bottle feeds them! She even yells at them sometimes and says "bad girl," and then puts them in time out! Wonder who she gets that from?!?

Weekend at the Breakers

My Big Girl

Everyday I look at her and just can't believe how big my baby is getting.

She is finally walking all over the place, but it's funny when she walks because it's still kind of a waddle. She thinks she's so cool that she can walk now, and swings her arms back and forth like she is a pro, as she toddles all around the house.

When I ask her to kiss me, she kisses my nose, and at the same time, holds my chin in her hands.

She cries when daddy leaves in the morning to go to work ;(

She knows what EVERYTHING is, and can say everything and anything. She knows what things are that I never even taught her, and surprises me everyday!

After she says "bye bye" she says "lugh you" (love you) to everyone and everything, and yes everything. When I change her poopy diaper, she says "bye bye poo poo, lugh you." So apparently when she tells me she loves me, it aint nothing special!

She is getting sick of me taking pictures of her. :0 Yes this is really happening.

This is my favorite: When she is doing something she likes, or is eating something she likes, she looks at me or Jason with a big huge grin, and says "Happy." I say "Im so glad your happy baby!" She does this all the time!

Everywhere we go, we must have a checklist of three items: Blankie, bucky (this is what she calls her paci), and B (her bunny). Without these, there will be turn around point somewhere in the road ;)

She thinks dresses and skirts and anything with rhinestones on it is "pretty."

She is OBSESSED with putting on my lipstick, and she knows right where to find it in my bag. She even purses her lips together and smacks them, as if rubbing it in on her lips. She must watch her mama!

She is a great sharer, which is odd for a 1 1/2 year old, but we haven't gotten to the "thats mine" stage yet, and she really has never taken anything from anyone. She even shares her cookie with me when she gets one; she must not understand the concept that every time I take a bite, a little bit more of it disappears!

She is my favorite little girl in the whole wide world! I just wish time would slow down, she's growing too fast for me!

Unfortunately this year it rained all evening for the fourth of July, so we kinda had to make the best of it. What's making the best of it, you may ask?!?! A good dinner at Jumby Bay, downtown Abacoa, with good friends, and then taking some cute pictures of the kids in the rain. The only way to get two toddlers to sit in the rain for photos was to bribe them with cotton candy, which also made for an adorable shot!

I may be good at capturing amazing moments in my daughters life, but Im not so good at keeping up with writing about them ;). Sometimes images explain themselves, but what about all the other moments that I forget to remember, or capture. Today it's the fourth of July, and we woke up and made pancakes and bacon and eggs. I made Maren a special pancake, with cinnamon and bananas and she just at it up! I love morning like this where we get to spend family time, and we aren't rushing to run off to work. Where we actually get to take our time sipping on our coffee, and listening to Maren yak away.

I cant believe my baby is a year and a half! This week was so special. We celebrated Maren turning 18 months (in our family we celebrate everything!), we celebrated Jason and I's two year wedding anniversary, and this sunday we will be celebrating fathers day! We are so grateful to have such a perfect little family of three. I am also so thankful for my wonderful husband, and making these last couple years the best years of my life. Jason is the best husband and Daddy we could ever ask for, and this week, we are celebrating that! I took these next couple of images for Maren's half birthday, and I am just loving the colors, and her sweet little smile.

It's been way too long since I last posted on my personal blog! I have been extremely busy editing photos from various sessions I had in the past couple weeks. I have a rule that I must finish my business editing before I can play with photos of Maren AND you must know that I take photos everyday, so now I am super behind editing photos from my personal life.

I am also backed up on Maren news. She is growing by the day, and turning into this beautiful little toddler, with her own personality, and the best smile in the world! Maren is 18 months now (well on the 14th of this month) and she has finally taken her first few steps. A few days ago she took four steps, and I was just so ecstatic! I got teary eyed, because Maren walking is just so surreal to me. Parts of me still see her as a baby, but I think thats because she isn't walking. When I saw her walk, I saw this toddler who seemed so grown up. I couldn't believe that my baby will soon be running around my house, and bossing me around!

Thats right. Most meals these days, go to the dogs. When Maren is finished feeding herself, and it is quite apparent in this picture that she does enjoy eating, she literally throws her food at the dogs. The food ends up all over my walls, all over my floors, and the funniest thing.....all over the dog's backs. Cloe and Gracie have to lick each others backs to get the food off their own fur!

Ooooh and I have some big news as of yesterday, which was Maren's 17 month birthday. Maren stood up all by herself from the ground up and stood without hands for about 5 seconds. She then realized that she was capable of doing this, and she kept doing it over and over. Maren just gained that confidence that she didn't realize she had. The fact that she actually tried something, and it worked! She's never even attempted to try that before. This is why I believe that the only reason she isn't walking is because she doesn't have the confidence. Now I hope it will come soon.

A Stop At The Sandbar

We decided to take Daddy's boat out on this beautiful south Florida afternoon, and Maren just loved the sandbar! It was the perfect day for pictures, as the sun stayed hidden under the clouds for the most part, peeking through a bit here and a bit there. A Latte Fun!

Yesterday, Maren and I met up with a couple of the girls from the playdate group at this indoor playground called A Latte Fun, at DOwntown at the Gardens. This was actually it's grand opening of it's new location, which was very impressive compared to the old location! This place is so neat, keeping the babies busy with all the climbing, swinging, jumping, and pretending they could ever image. The new location had two in-ground trampolines, a foam pit, three slides, two dress up stations, and lots of toys! There is also an entire coffee side, with chairs and couches, and a huge coffee and lunch bar. There are windows surrounding the play area, so you can see from the coffee house to the playground. Great idea! Maren had a blast with her friends, and I enjoyed spending the time watching her permanent smile across her face.

We have been to the pool almost everyday this week. The Gomberg family has finally started to get their tans on! Maren loves splashing in the water, and she will literally stay in the water until her pruny body is removed by either Jason or I. She just loves it! It's great to see her smiling, because for the past couple weeks, she has been in a lot of pain from her poor little teeth coming through. In two weeks, she has cut two molars, and two front cuspids, leaving her with 6 total teeth. She has been extremely irritable and clingy, so I have been trying to get her out of the house more, like the park and the pool. This helps my sanity just a bit!

.....Especially if my husband is involved. I have been begging Jason to do this shoot with me, because I had it envisioned in my head, and I wanted to create it. I also have been dying to get some pictures with Jason and Maren together, but it took a good bribe, and nice tie, and a random industrial park, where people were looking at us. After a quickie mini shoot, in the sweet evening light, we headed to Jettys, which is a fish restaraunt on the water that we love. The weather was perfect, Jason got his crab legs and margaritas, and our family got to enjoy a beautiful evening watching the sun go down on the water. It was just one of those times that makes you just stop and live life in the moment. Our real, beautiful life.

We have been up A LOT at night this week, and she has some teeth to show for it. This week she cut one molar, and one of her top side teeth. Still no front top teeth yet! She has her own order of cutting teeth, as she has her own way of doing a lot of things. So, we have four total teeth so far!

This is how I found Maren when into her room from her nap today. She was as happy as can be, dancing and singing in her crib! With the sweet evening sunlight coming into her window, it made for some great photo lighting. So of course, when you combine good lighting and the cutest baby, I had to satisfy my temptations! I ran downstairs really quick to grab my camera, hoping to not anger my oh so happy baby! Got some goodies....

Keepin Up With Maren Isabella

It's been a rough day for Maren. She has been cutting a couple molars, and probably a few other teeth I don't even know about. The poor baby's gums are super swollen and red, and you can see white right under the surface of the inflamed gums. Last night she was up for a couple hours screaming, and she has been fussy all day today. I feel like the last 24 hours have been the worst for her, and those molars are literally going to cut through any day now. This is the bad thing about being a late teether; you get your fronts and your molars in at the same time. Could you imagine how much that must hurt!

After dinner tonight, I had plans to give her a bath, a bubble bath for that matter, and take some pictures of her. I never really give her bubble baths, because she has ultra sensitive skin, and the only thing we ever use on her skin is the Cetaphil soap, with no fragrances or chemicals. However, I was feeling like she deserved a bubble bath (and I wanted some cute pictures of course) so sure enough I pour bubbles in the running water while she was sitting in the bath. A few minutes later, the bubbles began to grow, and we had a big bubble bath. As soon as Maren noticed the white fluffy bubbles in the bath tube, she started screaming! I mean ear shattering, terrified to death, shrieking, She was freaking out. I scooped up some bubbles and put them near her, and she screamed and tried her very best to move away from them, with her head down, just terrified! Little did I know, Maren is deathly afraid of a bubble bath.

Lets just say we skipped the bath photo opp, and went for a walk in her new pink car, which she calls a "truck." Well....it's more like an "uck." We had a nice walk around our neighborhood, and it was absolutely beautiful out, as the sun was setting. I got my photo opportunity back, and got some shots of her in her car. After our walk, I came back and put Maren to sleep. She was ready to go night night. I kissed those sweet cheeks goodnight, and thanked God once again for our beautiful and healthy baby girl. Now I will get some work done, and wait for my other favorite person in the world to come home. :) (yes thats my hub).

Easter Playdate at Ella Kates

I can't believe how big the babies have gotten! I know I say this everytime, but the first time we lined them up on a couch to take a picture, most of them were under 4 months old!!! Maren was the youngest, so when we met these kiddos, Maren was only 4 weeks old! In this picture is only half of our group. At this age, were lucky if we get 7 babies sitting without moving, for a picture!

The Easter get together was great. We put cheerios and goldfish in eggs for the babies, and spread them all over the floor. Most of them stopped the minute they realized there was food in the eggs, and started chowing down. I wouls scan the room, and see one baby tucked in that corner eating out of eggs, another in this corner! It was hilarious! They are all so funny! Im glad I got some good pics!

Enjoying The Small Things

It's a beautiful night, a Friday, which makes it even better. I just put Maren to bed, and she told me "night night" and kissed me on my lips. Jason is in Key Biscayne on a fishing trip, and so it's just me in the house tonight. Since it's so nice outside, I thought I would sit on the balcony and get my blog on. It's so nice to relax, to stop running. It's constantly go go go around here. Working a full time job (well what I consider a full time job)....8-3ish ;), being a full time mommy and a full time wife, and being a part time photographer. Sometimes I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day.

Our crazy life couldn't be any more perfect though! When the three of us get together, I just feel so blessed. I smile. Im so happy. Even when were not together, I still smile knowing that this is my life and I couldn't have picked a better one. Jason and Maren are like best friends, she is his little princess. Even though he's not home often, I have never seen any baby girl look up at their daddy the way she looks at him. She is truly in love.

I just enjoy the small things so much. The cuddles from my daughter, the soft kisses from my husband, the three of us eating chocolate chip pancakes with sprinkles and whip cream on a rainy day, Maren watching mickey mouse club house in bed in the mornings with mommy and daddy still sleeping, Maren's face when she sees me walk in the door at the end of the day to pick her up from the sitters......this one's my favorite!

I can't believe she is growing so fast! She is talking up a storm, walking around holding onto furniture, combining two and three words in sentences, and has finally got her third tooth! I had no idea she had a third tooth come in, until the other day, she was crying with her head tilted back on my lap, and I saw a molar in the top right side of her mouth! A full blown molar! Where did that come from, and where are the rest of her teeth, like maybe the front top ones??

We hope she'll start walking soon, although my hopes for her walking soon were never very high. I figured, 17 months, 18 months if we were lucky! She makes up for it on the talking end, however! Yesterday, we were outside playing, and our neighbors little girl came up to her and tried to take her ball. She yelled, "go away." I was like, what did you say?!? OF COURSE she gets that from me, because I yell at the dogs to go away. I said "Miss Maren Isabella! We don't talk that way!" Now I know I really have to watch what Im saying around the house.

Where Does Time Go?

It makes me sad to think about how big Maren has gotten and how fast time flies by us. She's not a baby anymore. She's turning into this beautiful little girl, who is communicating with us, talking to us, and who has developed her own personality. She has a little bit of Jason in her, and a little bit of myself ......okay a lot of myself ;)

It feels like just the other day Jason and I were staring at a teeny tiny newborn baby, just smiling at each other in awe. We still smile at each other in awe, but now it's because Maren makes us laugh for some reason or another, or she does something really cute. Jason and I will just look at each other, and smile, because we both know how blessed we are to have Maren in our lives. Were so lucky to be a family.

Went to the Green Market today with Mer's favorites, Buggy and Audrey. They were so cute! Maren's still the only one not walking, but that's okay. She gets pushed around by Trey and Audrey, while she sits in the wagon and eats all day! We attempted to get a picture of the three of them together sitting on the curb, and then we realized we were crazy to think we could ever get them all to sit and stay and smile perfectly like we wanted them to! I think these individual pictures really capture their personalities, though! Love the three of them! Maren is so lucky to have such good friends!

Her answer to everything is "no me" meaning not me.

Every morning she "crawls" daddy to the door, pulls herself up at the gate, and yells "buh bye dada, buh by," slightly crying while she says it, because she is upset he is leaving, but she knows the routine, and how it has to happen. It melts my heart every time.

She knows where her head, nose, mouth, ears, teeth, feet and belly are exactly on her body.

She likes to brush her own teeth.

She likes to take baths with mommy.

She loves the doggies. She calls Cloe, Clo Clo, like I do, and she pets them and says "nice."

Sometimes, when I catch her in a good mood, I'll start taking pictures of her and she will say "chesse" and give me that cheeser smile that I've always loved.

She can finally walk holding onto things now!

Her favorite thing in the world, besides bunny and bucky (this is what she calls her pacifier...), is Minnie Mouse!

She LOVES babies, like literally OBSESSED! When we see a baby in public, she gets mesmerized! She says "hi baby" over and over, and just stares! She also loves her baby dolls. This reminds me of myself as a child.

Her hair is curlier than I ever imagined!

She is a cookie monster. Everything that is flat and round, and comes out of a box is a "cookie."

When I tell her it's night night time, she crawls as quick as she can across the house, as if she was running away from me, laughing and squealing. She thinks it's a game. Every single night! Such a cutie pie.

She eats oatmeal with her hands.

She's SUCH a Daddy's girl, and let me tell you, Daddy is such a Maren's girl.

She HATES having her diaper changed!

She blows me kisses from across the room.

She hears Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on TV from the other room, gets so ecstatic, and crawls real fast to the other room, pulls herself up on the TV stand, says "hi" to mickey, and blows kisses. Ridiculously cute.

She still only has two teeth!

When shes feeling super sweet, she cuddles against me and pats my back and says "ahh baby."

She is such a blessing.

I am so excited! I finally got my new lens that I have been waiting for forever! All day today, I was experiencing high anxiety levels, knowing UPS could come at any time! I have a photo shoot scheduled for Sunday, and if I missed UPS, then I wouldn't get the lens until Monday, because it's a required signature package. So I worked until about 2:00, picked up Maren from Amanda, who was kind enough to meet me at Starbucks and I95, which saved me about 15 minutes, and hurried home!

As I drove through the neighborhood, I anxiously checked other peoples front doors, to make sure nobody had packages or sticky notes out front! Doesn't look like UPS had came yet. As I approached my house, Maren singing in the backseat, I leaned over and glanced at my door, and sure enough no sticky note that said that they had come and gone.

I waited, and waited, and FINALLY by 4:30 (my UPS comes late thank goodness!) the doorbell rang. I nearly fell over jumping out of my seat, and ran downstairs, as if the guy wasn't going to wait for me. I quickly signed and ran upstairs, holding the box against my chest like a baby.

Let's just say within, I don't know, 10 minutes, Maren had a cute outfit on, I had the lens on my camera, the car was packed, and off for a mini session we went. We literally just did these pictures in my neighborhood, but I had to bring my camera bag and these suitcases, so we decided driving would be our best bet!

I would like to thank my Dad and my Grandmother, who were kind enough to help me buy this lens. Hopefully, it will be the beginning of some of my photography dreams.

Whats Mine Is Hers

Yes she's cute, I know it! This is why Jason and I have trouble saying no to this princess! These days, it is automatically presumed that whatever is mine, is hers. It's practically worse than a marriage contract! If Im drinking coffee, she says "mine," and attempts to take a sip. When Im eating my dinner, she says, "me bite" because of course I have to share with her, or else she gets very angry! Let's put it this way....Everything that's Mommy's or Daddy's is Maren's also, according to this little miss priss.

A Day at The Park

It's Valentine's Day! The kids played, and Daddy pushed Maren on the swings. I also got some adorable photos of Daddy and Bear, laughing away on the swings. Maren loves her some daddy!

Oh, and I almost forgot! Maren is 14 months old today! That little rascall is still not walking, but she is pulling herself up and walking holding onto things! We will take what we can get! Besides, the child practically has the vocabulary of a two year old ;)

I don't think Miss Maren realizes how lucky she is to have such a romantic boyfriend at the age of one years old. This morning, at 8:00 am, Buggy came over to ask his Mer bear to be his Valentine! It's a good thing his mama is training him to be a gentleman so early. He brought Maren the CUTEST valentine ever, with a picture of Trey and Maren on the front and his hand prints on the back! It just melted my heart!!!! This will be something Maren will have forever. Trey also brought her a bug box with animal crackers in it, some funky heart sunglasses, and some pancakes for breakfast! I think Mer's boyfriend out beat a lot of men out there! Are they not the cutest together!!! I mean seriously?!?!?

Looking for Mickey....

There's nothing better than seeing the excitement on your child's face at Disney World, and to get to share this with Jason, was just so special! On the car ride there, as we got closer, "disney" busses would drive by us, and Maren saw the Mickey sillouettes on the side, and kept yelling "minnie, minnie, minnie." She could barely handle herself. Once we got to the park, there were "minnie's" everywhere! She just loved it! We even got to meet minnie in real person, and I think I got more excited about that one than Maren did. I acted like we were meeting someone famous! As you can see, Maren went home with a cute pair of Minnie ears, and Mommy went home with two cuties herself! ;)

Maren's first birthday party was a success! Other than getting to publix, and realizing the cake was 3 times the size I thought, didn't even come close to fitting on the platter I bought. A little embarrassing when it was bigger than our own wedding cake! The rain seemed to hold off just long to have a couple hours of sunshine. I think this is the most pictures I have taken in one period of time, totaling in 1280 pictures throughout a four hour party! Maren had an amazing birthday! She was so overstimulated that she wouldn't go to bed until 10:00PM! TOO MUCH CAKE!

I cant thank everyone enough for making Maren's birthday party so amazing. WE COULDN"T have done it without our family & friends! Also, thank you to those of you who drove a long way to come to spend the day with us! AND for those of you who couldn't be with us, You were missed! For Halloween this year, our Mom's group threw a little halloween party, which, by the way, ended up being the perfect way to spend halloween! Maren & I are so lucky to have this group, such an amazing group of woman and babies, who have ended up becoming such a great group of friends! It was so nice to have the Daddy's with us on Halloween, so everyone was together! We just had a lot of fun!! Couldn't have been more perfect! And of course my little pumpkin loved her very first halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

Maren absolutely LOVED the pumpkin patch!! After a long photo shoot, and a couple of outfit changes, yes outfit changes in the pumpkin patch, Maren got to pick out her own pumpkin to go home with. She could only carry the small ones, so we went home with a little baby pumpkin, and she loves it!! I wrote on it "Marens 1st Halloween."

Mama's Birthday Weekend at the Breakers

For my birthday weekend, Jason took Maren & I to the Breakers on Palm Beach. The hotel was amazing, and the pictures came out really beautiful!
